Who are you: Jessica Maranzano.

Summarise your role: My role is to support patients as they come to the end of their breast cancer treatment, which can be a challenging time both physically and emotionally. Through a dedicated appointment, I help assess patients and provide the with individual information, advice and support based on their concerns and what matters to them. This includes advice on managing side effects of treatment, education on breast awareness, surveillance, signs and symptoms to report to us, and wellbeing advice.

What do you find challenging about your role: The service launched at SASH in 2021, there were some challenges and barriers along the way, but now we have been up and running for some time the biggest challenge is letting people know what we do!

What do you find rewarding: I love speaking with people and building that rapport. When you can identity what someone is struggling with and help them through it, and just be there for them, then that is all the job satisfaction you need!

What do you enjoy outside of work: I have four children so I am usually found in a muddy field most weekends or am running around after them! Aside from that I love going to music gigs, yoga, enjoy a good cup of tea and time with family and friends.
