Occupational Health (OH) is a specialist branch of medicine which focuses on the health of staff in the workplace. The Surrey & Sussex (SASH) OH department provides staff and managers with rapid access to specialist clinical advice to help protect, maintain and support our staff with health issues in the workplace. Our staff are our greatest asset. Supporting your welfare, wellbeing and safety is a key priority for the Trust. Further information on the role of OH can be found here.
The SASH OH department is a nurse-led clinical service. Our team comprises of qualified OH nurse advisors, OH practice nurses, an OH clinical assistant, an OH specialist physiotherapist, and administrators. We also have an OH physician who consults twice a month. The OH team advise employees and managers, treating each with courtesy and sensitivity. We are committed to maintaining confidentiality for individuals

In line with NHS England, our objectives are linked to the six core functions of an efficient OH service.

The SASH OH service is SEQOHS accredited, meaning the service has been independently assessed as meeting industrstandards in safety, effectiveness and quality.

Opening hours
Occupational Health is open between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Occupational Health Nurse Specialists are responsible for the triage and prioritisation of requests.
Please note: Occupational Health cannot prescribe or offer a treatment service. Medical diagnosis, treatments and consultant referrals should be obtained from your GP or specialist, as appropriate.

We are located in Brickfield House, behind Trust headquarters near the disabled car park.
Our team consists of an occupational health physician who visits the Trust regularly. Our clinicians are all fully qualified occupational health nurses and advisors with many years’ experience behind them in the occupational health sector. All our clinicians have the required skills, competency and experience to effectively provide high quality occupational health services to trust employees and other clients.
The occupational health administration team are experienced and play a key role in the running of the department supporting the clinicians and working to a very high standard.
