Patient Information and Research

As SASH is a research active Trust, patients and relatives may be approached to discuss taking part in research, and medical records may be reviewed by the clinical research team.

All data is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you are taking part in a research study, you can find out more about the use of patient information for the particular study you are taking part in from the research team or the study sponsor – the details can be found on the information you were given when you agreed to take part.

All research is undertaken with the appropriate regulatory and ethical approvals – the Health Research Authority also has information on the use of patient information for health and care research.
