Jamie Russell.
Summarise your role.
My primary duties of Engineering Supervisor are to support the Estates Manager and Senior Engineer in managing the engineering/building craftsman and contractors on a day to day basis. My role also is to ensure that the optimum use of manpower is utilised at all times.
What do you find rewarding about your role?
What I find mostly challenging about my role is that I am the only Supervisor on site at any one time. I like to support everyone in my team but find it difficult to be in 3 different places at once. However, I do my very best to make sure that I provide much needed support to my team balancing my time and ensuring that I prioritise my workload.
What do you find challenging?
Overcoming difficult situations. Successfully completing complex and challenging tasks.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
In my personal time my hobbies are golf, Motocross and boxing. I very much enjoy my hobbies and a good social life but I’m also a father of two young children. They well and truly keep me on my toes throughout my time at home.
