Clinics are held every weekday and Saturdays.

Our three medical retina consultants provide a comprehensive medical retina service investigating and treating conditions such as diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusions. We provide wide access, across our sites, to injection and laser therapy for the treatment of these conditions.

Our two surgical retina consultants treat any retinal condition that can be managed surgically such as retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes and bleeds within the eye (vitreous haemorrhages). All retinal surgery takes place at East Surrey Hospital. We have retinal operating lists five days per week meaning we are able to rapidly treat emergency retinal detachments and other urgent conditions.

Our retina service is supported by a state-of-the-art imaging service with the latest in wide-field retinal imaging technology and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography and angiography. This technology enables rapid and efficient diagnosis and monitoring of all retinal conditions.
