If you have an urgent eye problem, such as a sudden change in your vision, you should contact your optician for review and referral to the Emergency Eye clinic. Alternatively, you can attend East Surrey Hospital Emergency Department or Crawley Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre. If you have recently had eye surgery and have any concerns, please contact Limpsfield ward on 01737 768511 ext. 1672.

Our emergency eye clinic is open to referred patients between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

We accept electronic referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from GPs and opticians via the following email: eye.clinic@nhs.net. The email address is closely monitored and during clinic times the referrals are triaged within one hour. A telephone consultation or face-to-face appointment within an appropriate time frame is then offered following assessment of the referral.

For GPs and opticians requiring telephone advice regarding patient management, our ophthalmology team can be bleeped by calling 01737 768511 bleep 296 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Out-of-hours the on-call doctor can be contacted via the hospital switchboard.
