Telephone follow-up post diagnosis
Following your diagnosis, the breast clinical nurse specialist (CNS) will arrange a time to call you the following week at home to offer psychological support and answer any queries you may have. This also provides the opportunity to review the contents in your patient care plan folder.
Crawley Hospital prosthesis fitting clinics is for patients who have undergone a mastectomy. It is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.
The 30-minute appointment will be arranged for approximately six weeks after your operation to see Janine Verge, our dedicated bra and prosthesis fitter. It is advisable to either wear or bring a plain light coloured top to your appointment as this helps with checking for symmetry.
If the correct size is not in stock, we will order it and arrange a further appointment for you to come back once the correct size has arrived. Alternatively we will advise you when it is available to be collected from either Crawley or East Surrey Hospital, depending on which is nearer to where you live.
The prosthesis fitting clinic is also available for you in the future should you require a replacement, change in size or other assessment. Please contact the breast CNS to discuss your needs and to learn more about updated and improved products.

We offer a support and wellbeing clinic at East Surrey Hospital and Crawley Hospital which covers emotional, practical, and psychological assistance to patients.
This includes a holistic needs assessment, which provides you with the opportunity to highlight any specific concerns we may be able to help advise and support you with.
