Mrs Kapka Nenova MD, MM, MRCOphth, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Lead for East Surrey Hospital Eye Emergency Department.

Mrs Nenova graduated from the Medical University of Varna, Bulgaria. She completed her Ophthalmology training at the University of Sofia. She started working for the NHS in 2010.

Mrs Nenova has completed two specialist fellowships: one in medical retina and one in oculoplastic surgery. Her medical retina fellowship was at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and her oculoplastic fellowship was at the world-renowned Naples University under the guidance of Professor Bonovolonta.

She is a member of the Value Stream Sponsorship Team at East Surrey Hospital and has taken part in several important quality improvement projects. She is a clinical and educational supervisor for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex deanery and actively takes part in the training of junior ophthalmologists.

  • Medical retina: Age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions and uveitis.
  • Oculoplastic lid surgeries: Blepharoplasty, entropion, ectropion and small lid lesions.
  • Cataract surgery
