Mr Luke Herbert is a cataract and retinal surgeon.
He started his training in ophthalmology at East Surrey before completing a two year retinal training in Moorfields.
He was Clinical Director for Ophthalmology in Hertfordshire before being delighted to be able to return to this Trust.
He does most of his retinal surgery under local anaesthetic and says he never forgets that the eye is attached to a person.
