Dr Makadsi qualified in medicine from Mosul University Medical School in 1987 with MB,ChBS degree. He did his General Medical training at Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
He obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in February 1998, and joined the North Western Deanery in Manchester as a Specialist Registrar in Medicine and Rheumatology the same year. He was also appointed as a teacher at the Medical School of Manchester University. He obtained MSc in clinical Rheumatology from Manchester University in 2003.
On the 1st of September 2003 he joined the medical team at Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust as a Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist. In addition to his Rheumatology clinics at East Surrey Hospital he has a weekly Rheumatology clinic at Crawley Hospital. He has interest in all Rheumatological diseases with special interest in Inflammatory Muscle diseases, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Connective Tissue Diseases, Rheumatoid/Inflammatory Arthritis and Osteoporosis.
