Dr Ferrigan was appointed as Consultant Physician in Medicine for the Elderly & Ortho-geriatrics at SASH in 2010 and works across both East Surrey Hospital and at Horsham and Crawley hospitals, providing consultant input to the community and rehabilitation services.
She trained at St Georges Hospital Medical School, London and completed her specialist training in Geriatric & General Internal Medicine in the South West Thames Deanery, during which time she also completed a Masters degree in Medical Ethics & Law.
She has been involved in the development of the ortho-geriatric service at East Surrey and is actively involved in the South West Thames Ortho-geriatric Network. In addition to work in general and geriatric medicine, her special interests include: Ortho-geriatrics (acute hip fracture care), falls and bone health, community geriatrics and incontinence.
Dr Ferrigan has an active commitment to medical education and training having previously spent time as a clinical lecturer in geriatric medicine.
