Miss Weston is a general ophthalmologist with a special interest in paediatric ophthalmology. She sees children including newborns and performs eye screening on the neonatal intensive care unit. She also specialises in the medical and surgical management of paediatric and adult squint (strabismus), as well as adult cataract surgery.
After graduating in medicine from the University of Southampton in 2005, Miss Weston completed her ophthalmology training in Wessex. She undertook specialist training in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Southampton General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has worked at SASH since January 2018.
Miss Weston very much enjoys working with children and their families, and prides herself on providing a caring and exceptional service. She works closely with the paediatricians, and runs a joint clinic with the paediatric rheumatologists for children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. With her team, Miss Weston has innovated new routes to access services, striving to reduce waiting times and streamline referral pathways.
Miss Weston and Miss Parvizi run paediatric clinics at East Surrey, Crawley and Horsham hospitals and also support the paediatric refraction clinic based at Crawley Hospital.
