Dr Jayaram is a Respiratory and General Physician. He was appointed as a Consultant in September 2013. As a London deanery trainee, he completed his specialist training at Guy’s & St Thomas’ and Kings College Hospital. He has conducted research in Pleural disease and Chronic Respiratory Failure at Guy’s & St Thomas’ hospital.
He is responsible for inpatients on Tilgate and Tandridge wards and has outpatient clinics in East Surrey, Horsham and Crawley Hospitals. As the trust lead for Pleural disease, he has developed and established an ambulatory Pleural pathway that provides a diagnostic and therapeutic Pleural service. He is currently establishing the regional service for in-dwelling pleural catheters in East Surrey and West Sussex. He is currently developing a local Medical Thoracoscopy service, to move specialist services away from central London hospitals and closer to Surrey and Sussex. He is also the trust lead for Tuberculosis.
His other areas of specialist interest include Interventional Bronchoscopy, Non-invasive Ventilation, Respiratory Weaning and Chronic Respiratory Failure.
