Staff receive a group appraisal each year in order to set our team objectives for the coming year. Our objectives relate not only to our team but to Pathology as a whole and also to the Trust objectives and plans. Each member of the team is also required to provide ten pieces of evidence to support their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at the appraisal. CPD points can be earned by attending a course or lecture; training or being trained on a piece of equipment or procedure; reflective learning after an event such as dealing with a difficult situation or doing something well.
We are proud of the development we provide our staff and some have gone on to use their experience and become Medical Laboratory Assistants working in the main laboratory. Indeed some of our reception staff joined us with a BSc in Biomedical Science and have gone on to become trainee Biomedical Scientists leading to registration with the HCPC.
We are also currently offering MLAs in the lab NVQ level 3 Diploma in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities. We are currently investigating the possibility of offering MLAs who work in the reception an appropriate NVQ qualification.
We are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm
Open for calls from 9.00am to 8.00pm
