Friends and Family Test
The Friends and Family Test has been introduced by the government as an NHS wide scheme, inviting you to rate the care and treatment you received whilst in our care. The outcome allows us to make important improvements to our services and identify where we need to focus more.
Patients that are admitted to Emergency, Inpatients or Maternity, are asked to answer a confidential and anonymous question:
‘How likely are you to recommend our ward/Emergency department to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?’
At East Surrey Hospital, you will be asked to complete the question just before you leave and invited to respond to the question by choosing one of six options, ranging from ‘extremely likely’ to ‘extremely unlikely’.
The results of this test will place SASH against all other NHS hospital trusts within the UK and will help us to ensure we provide you with the best possible patient experience whilst in our care.
Emergency: 94% of patients would be extremely likely or likely to recommend our emergency department. Based on 1,002 responses.
Inpatient wards: 93.8% of patients would be extremely likely or likely to recommend SASH based on their experience as an inpatient. Based on 746 responses.
It is important that you have the opportunity to voice your opinion, so please complete the question and return it before you leave. If you were not asked to complete it, please ask for one.
