Dr Frederic Sage
Dr Sage has been a consultant anaesthetist at SASH since August 1997. He deals with patients requiring anaesthetic and critical care services. He shares responsibility with his consultant colleagues for patients in the intensive care and high dependency units.
His specialism is paediatric anaesthesia, colorectal anaesthesia and regional anaesthesia as well as caring for critically ill patients.
His interests also include teaching and training in regional anaesthesia (RA). He is responsible for the RA fellows which includes some research. He has helped establish clinical services involving regional anaesthesia (for example fascia iliaca blocks for patients with fractured neck of femur) and has been running an internationally recognized RA course for the past 13 years.
