The Gynaecology department provides general and specialist clinics across East Surrey, Crawley, Horsham and Caterham Dene Hospitals. Surgical services are provided at East Surrey Hospital and Crawley Hospital. Brockham Ward is the dedicated gynaecology ward with 20 beds, based at East Surrey Hospital.
The service has expanded in recent years to include a one-stop gynaecology service and a gynaecological assessment unit (GAU).
The obstetric and gynaecology consultants see all women aged 16 and over within the Trust’s geographical area, who have gynaecological problems. Adolescent patients with gynaecological problems are seen by Miss Catherine Wykes, consultant, in her general gynaecology clinics.
Patients with suspected cancer will be fast-tracked under the two week rule to the gynaecological fast-track clinics, held at the Women’s Centre in Crawley Hospital and East Surrey Hospital.
