Reigate MP Crispin Blunt highlighted the growing reputation of East Surrey Hospital when he performed the official opening ceremony of the main entrance today (21).
The entrance is the latest in a series of improvements at the Earlswood site and provides patients and visitors with a spacious, bright reception area as well as a Boots, Costa and WH Smith.
Michael Wilson, the Chief Executive for Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said: “To date we have invested almost £50 million in our clinical departments and patient facilities and I’m delighted Crispin Blunt is here today as he has been incredibly supportive to the Trust.
“Building the new entrance was all about improving the experience for our patients and increasing the facilities on offer to them. We want their whole experience to match their first impression.”
Highlighting the investment and developments at the hospital, Crispin Blunt praised the staff: “You are all doing an absolutely brilliant job and providing a superb service to my constituents. This hospital is a real success story and its reputation gets better and better every single day.”
