Live well, work well was the message prescribed for every member of staff at East Surrey Hospital this week (4 March) at the popular annual Health and Wellbeing Day.
During their breaks staff got the chance to try their hand at free exercise classes, including Tae-Kwando and aerobic based fitness before chilling out in the tranquillity room with a dose of relaxation therapy and guided meditation.
A host of experts were on hand to offer advice on a wide range of subjects from diet and holistic therapies to cycling and nursery care. Surrey Carers and Surrey Police were also amongst the many organisations that came along to help support hospital staff to look after themselves and their families.
Yvonne Parker HR Director said: “Our staff work tirelessly to provide quality care to our patients but to do this day in day out, it is important they look after themselves and we want to support them in whatever way we can.
“We really appreciate everything they do and from the messages of support, gratitude and thanks that we receive daily, we know that patients, their relatives and carers appreciate the amazing work they do too.
“This is one day when we can turn the spotlight on everyone who works here and offer a wide selection of support and advice on staying healthy.”
