The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) latest Maternity Survey at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) reflects the positive care and experience patients have received from the Trust’s maternity services.
The survey, which was carried out between April and July 2025, gathered the views of expectant parents who received maternity care over a 12-month period. Responses reflected experiences across SASH’s antenatal, labour and birth, and postnatal care.
The results revealed that many women and families had a positive experience of the care they received from SASH’s maternity teams.

The feedback from the survey showed that patients felt supported and cared for during labour and birth, felt listened to and involved in decisions about their care and were well supported after birth, including with feeding and recovery.
The feedback reflects the hard work, kindness and commitment shown by the Trust’s maternity staff.
Isata Tarawallie, Head of Midwifery said: “Thank you to my colleagues for your dedication and compassion. Your efforts really do make a difference to the families we care for.
“I would also like to thank all our patients and their families who took the time to share their experiences, as well as our maternity teams for their continued dedication and compassionate care. We remain committed to prioritising listening, learning, and working together to provide safe, inclusive, and high-quality maternity care for everyone we serve.”
