Patients and visitors are invited to the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patient education evening at East Surrey Hospital, run by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) on Monday 29 April 2019.
This is the first patient education evening for IBD at SASH. During the evening there will be an opportunity to meet different teams and speak to a range of specialists including; endoscopy, pharmacy, psychiatrist liaison, stoma care, along with Mindfullness for better mental health charity to talk about support for patients and families.
Among IBD conditions, Crohns, disease and ulcerative colitis affects approximately 300,000 people in the UK. It is a disease of which people can be stigmatised against and is considered misunderstood.
There will also be an educational session on IBD presented by Dr J Nolan, gastroenterologist at SASH.
Open to everyone the event takes place from 6-8pm in the atrium and lecture theatre, post graduate medical education centre at East Surrey Hospital.
