- information and advice on coping with cancer and its treatment
- counselling services
- financial advice and support
- complementary therapies; including reflexology and reiki
- cancer support groups
- exercise programmes
- a range of classes to support those during and after treatment
The Surrey and Sussex Heart Centre
Work has finished on the Surrey and Sussex Heart Centre at ESH which now includes a new recovery area, two cardiac catheter laboratories and the edition of a dedicated pre-assessment/clinic room and procedure room.
The procedure room allows us to carry out non-invasive procedures such as TOEs and Cardio-Versions and to deliver Stress-Echo’s for the first time.
The new and improved facilities mean our patients can have their procedures completed locally, reducing their travel and diagnosis times.
If you would like to arrange an informal visit to the department, or have any questions regarding the service, please contact Dr Nandu Gandhi, lead consultant cardiologist, on Nandkumar.Gandhi@sash.nhs.uk
To refer your patient to Cardiology, please address your referral to the Outpatients Booking Office at East Surrey Hospital.
Bariatric referrals can now be made directly to consultant Simon Monkhouse who will assess them and determine their pathway. If suitable for surgery Mr Monkhouse will take their case to the St Georges multidisciplinary meeting and will operate on them there. This will be a transition arrangement over the next six months to one year until the full service is brought back to ESH. For further details contact email@example.com

Opening of the Integrated Reablement Unit
In January we opened the new 21-bed, integrated reablement unit (IRU) at East Surrey Hospital – a partnership between Surrey County Council, East Surrey CCG and SASH. This addition to our health campus provides care for patients who no longer need to be in hospital as they prepare to return home or to another place of care in our local community.
