Many of the community transport schemes that run in Surrey and West Sussex are able to help with transport to and from hospital for disabled users. Please see our help with travel costs page for more information.
If your disability or current medical condition stops you from using other forms of transport, please discuss this with your doctor. It may be possible for them to arrange hospital transport for your appointment. Please speak to your doctor or nurse for more information.
There are many resources available on gov.uk, including information on accessible travel for those with limited mobility. You can also use their website to find out about community transport services in your area.
Many other support organisations may either be able either to offer help with travel or to provide provide guidance on the kinds of support available. Visit the Disability Rights UK website for a list of major national disability and voluntary organisations.
The British Red Cross and St John Ambulance organisations can also offer transport to and from hospital, although a charge will be made.

Changing places toilet
People with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well people with other physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably.
These needs are met by Changing Places toilets and we are pleased to have opened our first Changing Places toilet at SASH. This new toilet is situated at the East Entrance. You can find out more about the campaign here.
