Safeguarding Children - Our Commitment

• The organisation meets the statutory requirements in relation to Criminal Records Bureau checks.
• Child Protection policies and procedures are robust and when due their review will reflect the updated "Working Together" publication ref. DH 2009. The process for following up children who miss outpatient appointments has been in place since November 2008 and is robust.
• The rolling training programme continues to provide Level 1, 2 and 3 child protection training to all eligible staff.
• Named professionals are clear about their roles and have sufficient time and support to undertake them. A review was undertaken in April 2012 to ensure these professionals continue to have sufficient time to fulfil their roles.
• There is a Board level Executive Director lead for safeguarding. The Board reviews safeguarding across the organisation at least once a year and has robust audit programmes to assure itself that safeguarding systems and processes are working.
