Emergency and trauma

The orthopaedic service for emergency patients and walk-in trauma patients is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Patients are assessed, have x-rays taken if necessary, and receive initial treatment, such as a temporary plaster, in the Emergency Department at East Surrey Hospital, or in the walk-in centres at Crawley, Horsham and Caterham Dene Hospitals.

Patients are then referred to the Fracture Clinic at East Surrey Hospital. More serious injuries are admitted onto the wards.
