Hospital transport
If your disability or current medical condition stops you from using other forms of transport, please discuss this with your doctor. It may be possible for them to arrange hospital transport for your appointment. Please look in our hospital transport section for more details.
Other support
Door to Door: a travel guide for disabled people
This is an information resource compiled by the Government's Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC) and can be found at www.dptac.gov.uk.
Many other support organisations may either be able either to offer help with travel or to provide provide guidance on the kinds of support available. The DPTAC includes a list of major national disability and voluntary organisations at: http://www.dptac.gov.uk/door-to-door/15/01.htm.
The British Red Cross and St John Ambulance organisations can also offer transport to and from hospital, although a charge will be made.
