Hospital transport
Hospital transport is to provide a way for patients, whose condition prevents them from using other forms of transport, to get to and from their hospital appointments.
Hospital transport for your appointment is authorised by your own doctor, not by Trust staff.
Any further follow-up visits requiring transport will be authorised by the doctor or nurse in the clinic or department where you are seen. This transport will continue to be dependent on your condition.
If you have been an in-patient at the hospital and need hospital transport to get home, this will be arranged by the ward staff.
If you feel that you have a need for hospital transport, please talk with your doctor about it - the intention is that hospital transport should be available for those who need it.
Please note that the hospital's transport office coordinates the delivery and collection of patients - it cannot arrange or authorise transport.
